I still have a hard time understanding why people decide to mess around with drugs. The warnings and teachings from the fate of others ought to make you stop before you destroy your life with addiction, crime, jail or as likely in this case, an early demise.

I'm not kidding myself, all my Thai children are in their 20s and none of them are using drugs. Don't kid yourself that you know what's going on in my family.

I never claimed to know what’s going on in your family. What I said was pretty simple: no parent knows everything their adult children do once they’re in their 20s. That’s just reality.

Rubbish! The more druggies that are removed from the gene pool, the better the human race will evolve. If someone wants to take illegal drugs that can be fatal, then that's their choice. Sensible humans don't dabble in white powder.....

You must be the life of the party down at the local pub.

True, or in their younger years either. Children hide a lot of what they do trying to fit in with their peers.

My own told me much later what they did when they were with me while teens, even though it wasn't too bad, and which were things I myself hid from my own parents when I was a teenager. Full disclosure isn't necessary in any lives, as it's your own personal experiences.

I suspected certain things that were proven later, but that's what makes you growing up, as long as you don't let any become bad habits you can't stop.

Many parents have no idea what their children are doing outside the home, especially if they're good at hiding things, although someone hooked and at the mercy of drug use will show signs.

I get the feeling that someone just won the Darwin Award for the Week.

It takes quite a lot to kill a healthy 27-year-old....That white powder must have been very potent...

My guess and in priority of cause;

  1. He took bad dugs or full strength drugs and died or

  2. A potential murder where he or they gave him the bad drug and set up all that equipment, as in the photo, to make it look like my response in No.1

To me the tidiness of the room may give an indication of a setup. I think any investigation should be proceeding (CCTV, interviews, others in the room, tracing movements, etc), without awaiting toxicology and forensic results.

If foul play is found to exist after results emerge, the perpetrators and witnesses will be long gone.

Personally, I believe a tragedy is a blameless death by accident such as vehicular, zip line or parasailing. Not this, if it is self-harm. It's tragic for an individual's loved ones, but my sympathies lie with the innocents.

publishing photos of the paraphenalia and substances was so unprofessional IMO. Next thing we will be shown loaded syringes hanging off forearms. Any such visual images should be kept strictly private by the Investigators.

Thailand has always shown pics of crime scenes. Years back the victims and gory injuries would also be shown.

I agree there should be more censorship of details, without going as far as Australia, for example, where almost everything is kept from public knowledge.

it wouldn't be 'newsworthy' without the explicit photos would it?

If charges were to arise out of this Sudden Death, the Defence Counsel would have a field day.

Some pretty thoughtless comments here. He's been named, he's deceased suddenly, he's someone's son, brother etc. Sure they'll like reading some of the rubbish on here.

Thais, Cambodia Laos, will sell rat poison if they think they could make a few bucks. Stay away from drugs when traveling IMO. I feel for the guy..

This is right + 1. Buying street level drugs anywhere is like playing Russian Roulette with all the fentanyl going around these days. Deadly.
