Just like Starmer "smashed" the gangs? 😄 Burnham is way out of his depth. He is also illegitimate and needs to call a general election so he has a mandate for all these dreams he pretends to have.

You didn't look at the graph, did you? You also need to read up on maritime law, as do Reform, by the sound of it.

If I didn't know you better Ray, I'd think it was finally dawning on you that this is actually a massive problem. How to stop it? Simple. Remove the incentive. Detain them on arrival and put them i

Imo better to thought of as a fool rather than someone completely devoid of any semblance of morality but, hey, that's just my opinion. No doubt hate-filled individuals such as yourself disagree.

If you can't see the problem with being complicit with the use of concentration camps and its' likely consequences then I genuinely pity you.

Concentration camps are for people held due to race, religion, political beliefs etc.

These are criminals who broke into a country illegally. It would be a detention centre. No doubt you'd prefer to have them roaming the streets, stabbing people like Rhiannon Whyte to death or trying to behead them like happened to Stephen Ogilvy, because that makes SUCH you a good person 😄.

I care about the victims. You care about the criminals. And you talk of morality? 😆

Nigel Farage has met Jordan Bardella, the leader of France's far-right National Rally party, in London.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Bardella told the BBC's Nick Robinson he believed the "extremely resilient" Reform UK leader would become the UK's next prime minister.

The 30-year-old French MEP is leading in opinion polls to win the first round of the next presidential election due in 2027.

A Reform source said the two politicians discussed small boat crossings and energy policy, particularly nuclear energy.

Well you never know who your new neighbour is.

Aha ha ha ha, is that supposed to be your link? That's just Farage meeting his racist mate for a cup of tea. Jordan Bardella is not even an MP.

Semantics and no justification whatsoever.

Let me remind you what you said this 'detention centre' should look like:

"Similar to the IDC in Bangkok, but less luxurious. Tents in a field (on Dartmoor) surrounded by barbed wire/chain link fences would do",

and here's what Google AI says about the IDC:

" (conditions) are severely overcrowded, unsanitary, and inadequate, frequently operating far above standard capacity (sometimes 150%). Detainees face extreme confinement, poor healthcare, and prolonged stays without clear judicial recourse"

You would house people - whose crime is attempting to enter the country illegally - in tents in a freezing field in conditions which can be likened to those found in Nazi concentration camps and Soviet gulags.

I'll just leave that there.

If all the illegal immigrants were violent criminals as you imply, then there would anarchy on the streets. That is not the case, no matter how hard you try to portray it as such.

In some ways it would be simpler if all the illegal immigrants were violent criminals. No one in their right mind would want people like that roaming the streets and they could be locked up before being deported. However, the truth is more nuanced - a state unknown in your 'black & white' world - some of these individuals are refugees, most are illegal economic migrants and, unfortunately, some are criminals. Identifying the genuine refugees is the time-consuming problem.

You don't care about anything other than pushing a divisive agenda at every opportunity.

I sympathise with anyone who is the victim of crime and have little sympathy for criminals. However, I believe that the punishment should fit the crime and your solution to lock up illegal migrants in a tent on a freezing field is not just disproportionate but inhumane.

Behave! It's more like Glastonbury. People pay good money for that. They even have "No Borders" signs on the security fence. Smart people!

Criminals by definition. Many have also proved to be violent.

All criminals by definition. They were perfectly safe in France. No reason to break into Britain other than superior benefits.

I care about the safety of British people who don't deserve to be put in danger by misguided Boomer Liberals trying to show everyone how #bekind they are.

Breaking into a country is a serious crime. The vast, vast majority of countries lock up and deport illegals, that's why they don't get themselves into such a mess like Britain has.

Ask any Thai what they think of illegal immigrants coming to Thailand and getting benefits, they'd say the same as me. Do you think they are all big meanies like you think I am? 😄

Get a grip and take responsibility for the damage your liberal ideology is doing to a once great country.

Are Australians inhuman in your mind then RayC ? They towed there migrants away and left them to fend themselves off Indonesia somewhere with nothing. How would you feel if you lived in this small Town called Crowbouragh Rayc. Labour lied to the locals then in the early hours bussed hundreds into this former Training Barracks. No security there free to roam around the Town, like one member said it only takes one bad apple to have massive problem with the locals.

Illegals in Thailand don't get benefits because there isn't benefits system. Only Social security paying Thais can claim. There is a very small, 1000b, pension for non payers.

Legal immigrants working in Thailand and paying SS are entitled to benefits under the same rules as Thais.

I'll take no lectures on patriotism and caring for their compatriots from someone who lives 6,000 miles away, vows never to return and misses no opportunity to criticise the country.

As for your post itself, it is nothing more than a feeble attempt to justify the unjustifiable.

Just so it doesn't get lost by your diversionally tactics here's a reminder of how you would treat illegal migrants, "Similar to the IDC in Bangkok, but less luxurious. Tents in a field (on Dartmoor in a freezing December) surrounded by barbed wire/chain link fences ...". (Note: It is generally accepted that the IDC is overcrowded and unsanitary amongst other things). How compassionate!

Yes, illegal migration is by definition, a criminal offence. However, there is no other way for genuine refugees to seek asylum. Do you deny that genuine refugees exist? Should the UK simply say to the rest of Europe, "Your problem"?

The benefits offered by the UK are no better - and in many cases - worse than those offered by other European countries.

Illegal migration is a Europe-wide problem and it requires a Europe-wide solution. However, fortunately most people - unlike you - have moved on from the Dark Ages and wouldn't countenance the use of concentration camps to house illegal migrants.

162 invaders crammed into a rubber boat this morning heading for the UK. The Outboard was likely to small to push this boat resulting in it catching fire. Five asked to be took off the boat due to the French coastgurad shadowing it. Even this was not enough for them to return to the beach and they pushed until they got into British waters just off Dover some jumped into the Sea others were rescued by British coastgurd. 160 could have drowned.

(Barra, If would be better if you either quoted the post or added an @ before the name when replying to posts. That way you can be sure that the OP will see it).

If Australia did what you said, then without knowing the exact circumstances, it sounds like they would be in breach of international maritime law and, yes, imo that is inhumane.

The individuals interviewed in the video sound quite reasonable. Indeed, one mentioned that the accommodation might be sub-standard. It also sounds like communication with the local community could have been a lot better. Nevertheless, what it boils down to in effect is NIMBY. Ask anyone, 'Do you want a prison, motorway, housing estate, drug rehabilitation centre, migrant centre, etc built next door to you?' and 99% of people will reply, 'No'.

The amount is irrelevant. Thais get it, illegals don't.

But then Thailand hasn't been destroyed by stupid Liberals.

Australians must be hardcore Trump fans and racists:

Operation Sovereign Borders is Australia’s military-led border protection policy, launched in September 2013 under the Abbott government. Its core goal is to stop unauthorized maritime arrivals (“boat people”) by intercepting vessels at sea and turning them back to their point of departure whenever possible, while any people who do reach Australian waters are sent to offshore processing centres (mainly Nauru).

The policy combines naval turnbacks, disruption of people-smuggling networks, and a hard “no settlement in Australia” rule for those who arrive by boat, and it has remained in force under later governments.

Instead of Nauru UK can send all of them back to France.

Now the NGO's make sure the flow continues.

No. They are not illegal immigrants. They are asylum seekers.

These are two very different groups.

Even asylum seekers don't get phones, not from the government snyway.

Semantics. They are illegal immigrants who later "claim" asylum.

They enter illegally.

Incorrect.

Asylum Seekers and Illegal immigrants in UK are two separate groups.

One group has a temporary right to live in UK, tge other doesn't. One group receive some support, the other group doesn't.

Asylum Seekers and Illegal immigrants in UK are two separate groups.

-> They’re the same problem with different paperwork. Both belong on a plane out. Deport them all.

A few days ago, Shabana Mahmood said: '1,000 law enforcement officers have now been deployed on the French coast to stop small boats' Adrian is back in France to see if that was true. Instead of 1000 officers he found 100s of illegals heading to the UK.

So why are we paying the French over £600 MILLION for this lackadaisical approach to what I believe is an invasion?

Charity workers from Opal Exil are assisting the invasion.

Illegal boat crossing live.png

A mega dinghy carrying 230 people crossed the Channel overnight, with not one woman nor child in sight. This many fighting-age men on just one dinghy? The French are out of their minds for escorting it across! 950 migrants arrived only this past the weekend. 950 in only two days… Having kept our borders wide open for over 10 years, we’re being replaced. When will this nightmare end?
