Hi,

So, thanks to the forum's guidelines, my

Thai GF now has a visa to visit me in

Ireland.

Thanks to everyone who helped with my

previous queries!

Only problem is, while we were waiting for

it to be granted, I decided I'd come to

Bangkok as it was taking too long. In any

case, she started a new job and couldn't

have come.

After I arrived, her visa WAS granted but

she wants to know if she can defer it's

use until later in 2007 when she intends

to visit me in Ireland.

We visited the embassy and they say

she must give a decision about using

the visa before 23rd September as to

when she wants to use it.

But she still needs clarification.

As we need to save a little for the flight,

we can't give exact dates...but are aiming

for her to come in December.

Do we have to give exact dates of her visit

or is there a tolerance? Can we just say

that she intends to visit at the end of

the year 2007?

Or does she have to apply for another

visa and would that take a long time

to process again.

Thanks.

I don't know what your answer is, but my instinct says that, providing circumstances haven't otherwise changed, you can just say that the date of the trip has been postponed.
