Your not the attention seeker here either, 💯, Jerry seeking another Tom to do.. TVC is sfa in the overall visa scene, no big player.

More likely the banks would suddenly stop facilitating it and problem comes when people try to renew, in the same way Bangkok Bank has stopped

We're all here for attention.

So, who are the big players?

Why don't you just punch the disagree button and stop telling me what I should or shouldn't do.

The topic here is about when there will be a visa agent crackdown. Maybe you are seeing here the first small crack.

There's always been a small group of expats here who have a zero life and so find glee in attacking agents and those that use them for extensions. I'm sure you've burnt your bridges to your home country, stuck 800K in a Thai bank and toe the line so carefully regarding immigration that you're jealous of those who take the easy road.

Personally I don't use TVC, and have no interest in their advertising methods.

I use the 65K per month deposit method which my wife enjoys -- and the legal repercussions of what might have occurred with TVC as regards their advertised services or any intermediary offering such services could go beyond TVC in particular.

Claiming there's always been, when you've only been posting since June is interesting.

Why is it that so many people with no legitimate argument to support their position claim the people they disagree with have no life and whatnot?

I have sympathy for guys that use agents to circumvent the law because they are unable to meet the financial requirement.

I have contempt for people that use agents to circumvent the law to avoid the financial requirement, even though they are fully capable of meeting the financial requirement. These people are cheaters.

I have even more contempt for people that use agents to circumvent the law to avoid the financial requirement because they are unable to meet the financial requirement, but claim they are wealthy, but use the agent because they don't trust the Thai banks and or the money in their home country is growing at an incredible rate. These people are cheaters and liars.

Define momentous and earthquake. There an estimated 400 to 500k people on non imm o and non imm oa based on modeling. Only a fraction of that would be using an agent for financials.

I thought the same but I guess the estimate is around 30-40% use agents. I would have thought the percentage to be ~15%. Still will have little impact IMO and if it did, many easy fixes. With all the crackdowns of late, I wouldn't do it unless it was my only option. Having your passport flagged because you used an agent would be a bummer.

Not bkk based that's for sure, take a walk around town, count up pass ports in the in/out trays X (think big number). X 5 days week X BKK, Pattaya, Pkt, etc =by far big players.

You're so funny . Refer to foreigners who don't trust Thai banks , the same banks who have different rules with foreigners money and access , and then call them 'cheaters and liars" .. look in the mirror pal .

Have you seen their office building in Bang Na?

I'm from the US, and the US mandates that Thai banks have different rules for US citizens. That the banks cooperate with other banks around the world, does not bother me.

Actually, Thai banks not allowing just anyone with a bit of cash to open an account, and that seems to comply with all the restrictions other countries impose, I find reassuring.

Got it bud?

I really do hate to stop your imaginary thoughts, the extension on a passport is the same whether an agent lends a hand or you do it.

Seems you're overloading with contempt. You'll get over it.

Oh and about the june thing, I'm a late bloomer.

Yeah, you seem to avoid a lot.

You and EVENKEEL, two peas in a pod. You got here two weeks after he did.

Coincidence?

The US couldn't 'mandate' Muay Thai, let alone Thai banks.

I think you are confusing the monkey with the organ grinder

Sorry, I'll rephrase.

I'm from the US, and the US mandates that Thai banks that do not want to be sanctioned by the US apply different rules to US citizens. Again, that Thai banks cooperate with the United States, does not bother me, it reassures me.

I don't think that message reached Bangkok Bank in Ban Kruat.........................the manager there refused to open accounts for Americans - maybe because of increased requirements.

Have you ever ben in that office😭😭

First, how would you know? You are likely making it up or are regurgitating secondhand information.

And even if what you claim is true, the message absolutely reached the bank, or the manager there would not have refused to open the accounts.

Reason and logic not your strong suits, huh?

In any event, you have had to resorted to anecdotal claims about a single branch of a single bank. Weak.

Not sure what you are getting at. Are you claiming there are zero risks to having an agent get the stamp because you can't or don't want to meet the financial obligations? If they wanted to they could round up ten of thousands people that used agents illegally with little effort. Then what?

4 hours ago, Yellowtail said:

More of a guess that I made from info I have read and there were even polls here where I remember it being close to 50% use agents. Some just use for convenience so I deducted 10%. Anyhow, ignore it as I'm sure you will and I should have been more clear that little evidence backed up my guestimate.

So numbers you pulled out of your a**.

Nope but somewhere in that region.

Looking at your passport, the only indicator of an agent could be if it's done in a different province than where you reside. That's it. There's no agent stamp.

That is true. So how would they find those using agents? Hint, how are they finding those that used illegal company setups to buy condos.

Once they find an agent that is overusing their discretion, they pull a list of everyone that the particular agent has approved and check all their bank records.

Easy peasy
