Did Trump just turn into Commie as he pimps wealth redistribution?

You mean like Chairman Mao did in distributing wealth through radical policies to peasants? Bingo.

Incredibly generous offer by Mr Trump.

I hate to break it to you, but you have a better chance getting five grand from me than you do from Trump.

Let's talk legality in the United State. Under 18 U.S.C. § 597, it is a crime to offer, give, solicit, or accept compensation in exchange for voting, withholding a vote, or voting for or against a particular candidate.

Is the MAGA crowd so unbelievably stupid that they believe they will get a check?
Did they enjoy their buying spree with the last two promised-but-never-arrived checks so much that they are clamoring for a third ... not to be delivered?

This is stupidity on a scale never before seen.
I predict that in 20 years, there will be a question added to I.Q. tests and employment applications: Do you think trump was a good president?

This would point out the idiots quickly.

There are approximately 174 million registered voters, so if he were to actually do that the tab would be $870 billion. For that much money he could buy his own country, I'm sure those creeps who run Hungary and Belarus would be open to hearing his offer. As for the populace of those places he will probably get his head detached within months.

He said 'adult Americans', not voters so the number is higher. Google says "About 269.7 million people aged 18 and older live in the United States" so (if I get decimal right) that would be $1,345,000,000,000.... almost as much as he gave to the rich in tax cuts. Where would money come from? He says the trillions taken in by tariffs.... tho that money is being returned to Americans who paid the illegal tax (thank you SCOTUS).

If somehow he got this thru, he would not be prosecuted due to fatal flaw in Constitution putting DOJ under executive branch. None of his lap dogs will go after him.

This whole half wit BS grift is like him pickpocketing you, and then your glee when he gives you a twenty back from your stolen wallet.

If only we could get that prepaid by next month. What a joke.

The Babylon Bee pretty much hits a bullseye.

Bullseye!!! 🎯

He's not bribing you and hiding it. He's bribing you and bragging about it.

I'm not sure criminals living overseas are going to be entitled to it.

You might be lucky though...

Difference is Biden never explicitly said he would forgive student loans if people voted for him. Instead, student loan forgiveness was framed as a campaign promise and a policy goal of his administration, similar to how candidates propose tax cuts or healthcare plans. Trump's vote buying words were explicit.

Isn't it about time the US legal system was changed so sitting Presidents can be charged with crimes, like this vote buying, while in office. Clearly won't happen while Donnies there, but after he's gone?

Correct. And, by very loudly and very publically--with his position as president--bribing voters to vote Republican with the promise of paying them $5000 each, Trump has already illegally tampered with the US election mid-terms and already illegally affected its outcome with the use of a money bribe--some voters will, indeed, vote for their Republican candidates to get the illegal $5000 bribe. He should be arrested and charged.

One proviso - no cash vote buys for you American Expat peasants.
And I'm still going to vote a straight Democratic ticket, preferably DSA down to the county dog-catcher.
It's worth $5000 to me to have Trump removed from office ASAP.

It's a weird world we now live in, but it's true that Biden offered in effect a bribe to pay off each person's student debt. If it had worked, the government would have been on the hook for much much more than $5000 per person for that generous offer.

Trump should be congratulated for exposing for all to see the fundamental hypocrisy that underpins the whole system. But....

Trump is clearly just doing what Biden did and offering a 'reward' if GOP retains the House and Senate. Seems to me, judging by all the negative comments, that there are a lot of very 'activist' left wing Expats living here in Thailand (those on this forum) who are clearly very 'conflicted'. I just dont understand why anyone with an anti-conservative anti-nationalistic anti-monarchy list of personal values could live in a country that is such a right wing nationalistic monarchy - perhaps that is why all the negativity?

Biden committed no such FELONY.

Why did you invent such an obvious lie?

Anyway about living in Thailand, living in Thailand as a non-immigrant is not the same thing as becoming a citizen. Obviously.

When did Biden offer a reward as Trump did? 😂

Oh a MAGA false equivalence! 😃

Did he specify usd? It could be Liberian dollars which could equate to $25 usd. Even then it is doubtful that he’ll deliver.

Last election it was Musk handing out million dollar checks and this time it's going to be a trillion dollars of tax payer money. Not one cent from his own pocket.

I’m a US citizen and eligible to vote, and I will vote in November. I would rather see the Democrats take control of both the House and Senate than receive $5K from a Trump-controlled government. 😡

So outright buying of votes is a crime. This guy says if he wins he'll reward the voters with a monetary payout, apparently there is no consequence for him saying it, at least not yet. So planning a crime is not a crime if you don't carry it out? Or is that only if you own the AG? Oh wait, SCOTUS says a sitting president cannot be charged with a crime. God bless America! So if this guy went full Jack the Ripper and killed his wife, or Natalie, it would be ok? This Chief Justice is more a Renfield than an Oliver Wendell Holmes.

There are approximately 174 million registered voters, so if he were to actually do that the tab would be $870 billion. His wife maybe (Donnieboy and Melanie hate each other's guts), but not Natalie. He loves attractive young women that are totally devoted to him, and kiss his orange rectum every chance they get.

He's lost his marbles, needs kicking out.

If Republicans win and he pays, sue him for misuse of public funds. In excess of a trillion, I think.

Failing that, sue him for breach of contract. A verbal contract is binding under English law so perhaps also under U.S. law ?

The president also urged voters to “pretend that I’m on the ballot”, despite his historically low popularity with much of the electorate and an approval rating reported at around 38%.

Delusions of greatness. Nothing new to see here. I take note he's worried though, otherwise he wouldn't try bribing voters.

And international US treasury bills/bond buyers will pay for it.

The best way for the Democrats to handle this is to simply say if we win we will also vote through Trump’s $5000 gift.

If Trump then says under such circumstances, he won’t make that gift, that then makes it clear it’s vote buying and not a gift for he then makes it most certainly illegal.
