KOREAN GETS HIS WALLET BACK; REWARDS TOURIST POLICE AND KISSES POLICE OFFICER

A policeman, from South Korea, left his wallet on a baht-bus taxi. Fortunately, he recalled the number on the side of the baht bus and informed the police. Within ten minutes, police retrieved his wallet and returned it to the grateful tourist. The Korean was so delighted that he gave a one thousand baht reward to the tourist police and gave a policeman a kiss on the cheek.

On 4 September 2007, at 12:15 AM, Police Captain Jeerawat Sukhonsap, Deputy Investigator, was asked for help by a distraught Mr. Chong Dae Goon (48), a policeman from South Korea, who had left his wallet on a baht-bus taxi. Mr. Chong and his friends, also from South Korea, boarded baht-bus No. 010, heading from Pattaya Beach Road toward Walking Street, after having a few drinks. After they got off the baht bus, Mr. Chong realized that he didn’t have his wallet and had probably left it on the bus.

After hearing Mr. Chong’s story, Police Captain Jeerawat worked with the tourist police and looked for baht-bus No. 10. Within ten minutes, Tourist Policeman Mr. Somnuk Gla-Harn, and his friend. found the bus at the Big C parking lot in North Pattaya. The black wallet had been left in the passenger compartment on the back of the bus. Mr. Somnuk brought the wallet to the Tourist Center on Walking Street.

The wallet contained 350,000 Korean won, which is approximately 12,350 baht. Mr. Chong was so happy to get his wallet and its contents back that he rewarded the tourist police with one thousand baht. He hugged Police Captain Jeerawat and gave him a big kiss. The happy picture was taken amongst other tourists to a big round of applause.

only a policeman would actually remember the number on the side of a bahtbus.am sure the other policeman appreciated the 1000 baht more than the kiss.

Good thing nobody had found it before the police.
