Aspiring Thai flight attendants, too old, short, brown or fat? Come to America instead!
My beef was that they got assigned to international routes based on seniority. So a lot of them were old and jaded and worn out after fighting the airlines for years over pay and working conditions. Some of them were absolute treasures. But too many were surly and bitter and entitled. I've never once seen a foreign airline's flight attendants refuse to help an elder female passenger put her carry-on into the overhead bins. I saw it regularly flying US airlines which will go unnamed. I had one overnight flight where I sat next to a flight attendant union rep and we talked for hours about the way the airlines abuse them. -
