Work Permits

Will we be automatically be granted work permits if we have our own limited company registered in Thailand? Do we have to have a certain amount of registered company capital in order to get a work permit each?

Many thanks

No. However if you're an Managing Director, you have a very high chance of acquiring one when you apply for a work permit.

2 million baht if you're a Director. If you're just an employee and not a director...no requirement.

If you want a one year visa as a employee ( either being a director or not a director) then the company must have 2 million baht registered capital with 1 million of that being working capital. If you can not meet the 2 million baht registered capital on paper for the one year visa, obtain the one year multi entry visa and then you do not need that requirement.

what do you mean by limited company? do you mean you want to start up a company or a joint venture or you don't care as long as you get work permits?

you declare the capital of the company - you don't have to bring the 2 million in cash and put it on a table somewhere or have it in a blocked bank account.

the real issue if it's a joint venture you're after is that you have to have 4 thais as the majority owners holding 51% or more of the company.
