Does anyone here happen to play WoW? I just started recently, and despite a '2mb' line, my ping is terrible. My latency usually ranged from 500 to 800, and at times to about 1k ms. This is all with all other programs/processes closed, a fresh OS install and nothing else uploading/downloading.

Is the cause of this just the geological distance, and I'm SOL? Or is there something I can actually do to get better latency?

p.s. I had a 1mb line and recently upgrade to 2mb, but to no avail. If it helps, I'm using True ADSL.

It must be your location, I get pretty good speeds. There is a wow thread here with a surprising number of people posting they play.
