hi all agian my friend told me that You cannot get a shengen visa for your Thai partner from a consulate or embassy outside of Thailand unless you are legaly married and have all the suporting documents to prove it. is this true???

iam not sure as i have got one for my wife (thai) at the french embassy

Is that the same friend who says he will get a Thai passport simply by living in Thailand for 4 years? If so you should get some of his tablets ! then talk to him about something other than visas/immigration and citizenship !

You dont get a Visa for your partner, she applies for the Visa herself and anyone can apply for a Schengen Visa, she doesnt have to be married to anyone, she simply has to qualify by satisfying the requirements. She should, however, apply at the consulate in her country of residence.

She will only get it free of charge by showing evidence that she is married to a UK citizen.
