The other day I was wandering around a local electrical store, and saw a display of Samart Satelite TV equipment. On Offer were two dishes, complete with recievers. The first dish was a large black mesh thing around 1.2m dia, price 3800 baht. The second dish was smaller,0.8m, grey metal, and priced at 7600 baht. I was told that both systems could be installed for a further 1500 baht each.

This seems a bit of a bargain !

However, the salesman was unable to tell me what English speaking channels would be available to me.

Has anyone used either of these systems? If they have, what channels are available.

What satelite system would you recommend?

I would like to watch some English news, general interest programmes, and some films.

Regards

The smaller dish is NBT, a Thai package of 18 channels (maybe 20 now) all in Thai, cartoon, Siam sport, some Farang movies usual dubbed in Thai (Though I say one once in English)

The box is not "open" so you can't surf other channels either

Good deal for Thai's. Not a expat deal, try j sat tv as others have said, but a lot more expensive
