Which Free Antivirus Is Best?

Oh yea, August's tests. I was checking july's. silly me.

I have not seen any reply on my suggestions on how to keep you safe.

Anyone wants to comment on my advice?

2. GRC.com- some usefull progs and tips to stay safe

3. Zonealarm- Firewall

4. Avast- Anti Virus

5. Hitman Pro- Bundle of free anti spyware

6. CC Cleaner- Cleans temp and other stuff

Do a clean install and make sure you have all Windows updates on external media and install them.

Disable all services as mentioned on #1

Have all of the above on external media and install before you hook it up on the net.

Then update all of them and you should be safe.

You could also create a seperate account for surfing but not really needed if you do above actions mentioned.

A couple of years ago Avast had issues with Zonealarm engine running simultaneously. I hope they've been sorted out by now.

Since SP2 was released, and ZA got bulkier, ZA has been more or less redundant anyway.

What is up with the Antivir update site. I forced an update because it would not scan auto with error related to version mismatch ei updates out of date. I watch the update and it wants to connect first dl1.antivir.net then 2 then 3 then 4 all fail. try again and it connected to dl2 but at .002kBsec and then dropped after dl about 5k of 4 mb needed then went hunting servers again. Its been failing everynite. It keeps sending my a ad for the full version everytime I start an update. and this is not the demo I have the trail with serial number good to 5/08. Checked error log its been doing this two days now without warning. log is full of failed updates and last scan was the 21st. I guess I get what I paid for. "0" They want like 3$ min to contect tech assist HA! More like program removal time.
