Visa Run

Featured Replies

Could anyone advise the closest border to Phuket? My Husband & I need to do one last border stamp for 30 days before we have our papers ready to go for the Non Immi B and O visas.

Thanks

Mandy :o

Nearest border to Phuket is Ranong about 5/6 hours drive north of Phuket, Visa runs cost around 1200 baht or so round trip including boat over to Myanmar/Burma. I believe you can fly there with Air Asia for around 2300 baht return, call them at Phuket airport if no joy at travel agents ( think you may need to book direct ) I can't be bothered spending 12 hours on a minibus risking my life to save 1000 baht or so. A friend of mine from Patong actually flies down to Kuala Lumpur and makes a day of it . . not expensive with some of the fares if you shop around. Hope to have ben of some assistance.

bakwaan I'm with you 100% Mini-vans are cheap if you like the "plah kabong" - fish in can, style of riding. Air fares are cheap. Phuket to HatYai rt is 1,910. Great fares to Kl and to Ranong. Much easier and safer all around.

I only wish that some air carrier would start a Phuket to Naratiwat run!!
