It's hard to believe. I tried a veggie burrito that was supposed to be filled with "fresh grilled vegetables". The wrap was filled with limp and tasteless onions and jalapeno peppers. If it wasn't for the "free Spanish rice", the burrito would have been as thick as a cigarette. Too, I paid an extra 29THB for sour cream and cheese, but neither one was evident in my burrito. Everyone else in the restaurant ate tacos, and I guess that's their big seller.

Sorry to hear that. The grilled veggies would be grilled bell peppers and onions. We'll also be offering grilled zucchini and squash as an additional veggie option on Oct 18th when we expand in a second bigger storefront in the complex.

You can get also free with the veggie burrito... black beans, raw onions, lettuce, choice of salsa, one choice of cheese or sour cream. On average this will weigh in at 300 to 350 grams. This veggie burrito will cost you 109 Baht. The giant version is 69 Baht more and we'll guarantee it weighs 500 grams ( 18 ounces) Most of the time it weighs in at 600-700 grams and one time I weighed a burrito that was 918 grams because of all the toppings.

Burritos are a big seller for us and for the veggie burritos we get lots of raves especially from the vegetarians. Once again sorry to hear yours was nothing that we would want to serve. This will unfortunately will happen from time to time and all we can ask is, please give us a second chance, odds are very high you’ll be much more pleased.

I'll be trying the tacos. I love them. I miss them so much!

Congratulations to Sunrise.

Thank you. Hope to see you at the Sukhumvit Soi 12-Soi 14 location or at the Emporium 5th floor in the Park Food Hall.( near the Tony Romas)

I like sunrise tacos

while i love the tacos, i dont think it is any great acheivment to be on the list alongside, let alone below.

"#4 Getting a inexpensive tattoo at Khao San Rd or MBK Shopping Center"

Even though I'm not into tattoos, I can understand how they are part of Bangkok's heartbeat as well. It is a fun list.

The vegetarian options are a gamble because the staff really don't understand the concept. I've also gotten very small burritos compared to the meat filled ones. They often just leave out the meat and use the same amount of the other ingredients. I think the vegetarian market is pretty small and Sunrise has lots of other interests. It's pretty good though, so I do have it once in a while.

  • 1 month later...
"You can get also free with the veggie burrito... black beans, raw onions, lettuce..."

You should tell your employees that.

I had enchiladas the other day, by they way, only meat, no cheese, ok, on top for extra and when asked, the waiter told me salsa was extra

Been once and not again. Food was cold. Not crisp vegs. Not spicy. I am used to hot mexy found even if there is fresh salad present. Plus spicy. Sure you get a big portion here but size is not everything when food is concerned.

Staff are friendly but really have no idea.

Suggest the owner brings in a real mexy cook to sort it out then I and friends will be back.

Not spicy.

You just have to ask for extra hot salsa and jalapeno peppers. Same as if you wanted a burrito more spicy in Cali. I agree the burritos are the highlight there. I find the tacos kind of weird and something not right about them, but I can't put my finger on it.

sunrise tacos..

Been there MANY MANY times.

pros: open 24 hours. great for an alternative snack-attack. friendly staff.

cons: measley guacamole portion sizes. too many onions mixed in the vegetarian option. and, (for the first timer), a complicated way to order a simple meal.

but,, on the whole, I go back often,, just for a late night eat/snack.

if you order to 'eat in' you get a pathetic size of guacamole. if you order to 'take out' you get a larger size!!! (stupid!!) so,, I always ask for my guacamole to 'take away' and then I eat it in!! (saying that, the take out size isnt so big either!)

is tuk tuk tacos that one at patpong on the corner? if not,, has anyone been to that one on the corner at patpong?

is there any thai visa pages on 24 hour food in bangkok? i often go to sunrise tacos for this reason,, (coz its open gods hours).

I also often go to Silom, PatPong TIP-TOP restaurant coz its open till about 5am... (and has a good selection of food and the staff are great..)

so,, is there a 24 hour section in thai visa? if not, maybe need to make one :D

ah,, also I often taxi ride to KoSan Road if I need a 4 or 5 am feed... theres plenty of places there you can eat 24hours.

of course there are subway sandwiches in sukumvit and other places too.

i'm not really gonna bother writing about thai street food, coz thats everywhere. it was more about western food.. (or at least a western style restaurant which might happen to also serve thai food).

I got the perfect place for you. You need to go to 13 Coins, sib saam rien in Thai. It's a Thai restaurant chain that serves Western food, and some of them are open 24 hours a day. There are at leat two locations I know of in central Bangkok open 24 hours, in Thanon Uripong and in Ratchada. You can get a steak with chips, pasta, and veggies for like 160 baht. They also serve pasta, pizze, seafood, and Thai food. The food isn't perfect, but at 3am if you want some beer and some decent non Thai food it's the best I've found. Don't have exact directions, but lots of taxi drivers know where it is. The location I usually go to in Uripong is on the 3rd floor of a hotel, and late at night is usually full with Thai dudes and their chicks drinking and eating Western food.
