Thinking of importing motorcycle from Indonesia, an ASEAN member, as I understand import duty should be much less than from Europe etc? Does anyone have experience of this type of import or solid knowledge of the duty I would have to pay?

dont buy the bike til you have firm evidence thet you can bring it in,i was a bike dealer and i tried my best to get a bike in that i flew into cambodia ( big mistake, $3500 in taxes for a bike declared at a 1000 pound value ).i had all legal papers, had registered it properly in cambodia, and they wouldnt budge, the lady dealing with me at the border at koh kong really wanted to help and did a load of digging, but it was a one month permit only,as for permanent import i was told impossible,.( this may not apply to bikes under 200cc )
