A Company To Guide Me Through The Process

Featured Replies

Would someone please recommend a company that could guide me through the whole process of working in Thailand.

I have been working in Taiwan for the past 6 years and frequently get asked to work on projects on a short term basis here, in Thailand, and elsewhere. In the near future I would like to focus more of my time on these freelance projects.

I want to have the ability to legally accept these projects. I do have a goal of growing this practice to the point where I could actually spend most of my time in Bangkok. Initially I would still live in Taiwan but would likely rent a residence in Bangkok. Hiring staff would be fine though advice on that would be appreciated as well.

This isn't a big venture, I am simply seeking ways to legitimise my freelance opportunities.

To legally work in Thailand, you must be employed, with work permit, by a corporate entity that is formally registered in Thailand.

If you travel in and out of Thailand frequently, and are paid to a bank outside Thailand, you can probably perform "work" - as in via Internet - from a hotel or apartment - without anyone much caring.

English-teaching is about the only"free-lance" activity that is commonly pursued here on a semi-organized basis. Other than that, "freelancing" is generally not possible for foreigners - you must either find a sponsoring employer, or create your own employer, by forming a company here.

Good luck!
