Free Job Dispute Resolution

Featured Replies

A small team of us, committed to a fair way of resolving disputes between employers and employees, have created www.esljudge.com. This free service is designed to allow teachers and schools to resolve disputes and avoid public he-said-she-said attacks on this and other similar forums.

It does not compete with this site in any way--there is no discussion forum.

We hope that teachers will find this site helpful.

We hope that interested parties will join us as independent arbitrators.

Finally, we hope you can PM us with any suggestions or comments

It sounds like a good idea, in theory at least. I don't exactly know how you get school administrators to go along with your suggestions. I know where I work, the director is always right and if you don't believe her, ask her! She's generally fair, but the occasional memory lapse means that something that has become somewhat of a standard operating procedure gets denied to someone. Fortunately, this isn't often.

I don't think she'd take too kindly to being challenged by some outside organization.

Again, I hope it works out. It would be a welcome place to review conditions.

Not to be shooting down a work in progress, but a quick check of the website shows that there are not yet any schools listed or rated. It appears to be direct competition with TEFL Watch, from a different angle or method.

As for Thailand, I agree with Scott that disputes are not something the Directors would feel a need to have resolved by a third party over which they have no control. In other words, a great idea where both parties agree to (non-binding) resolution, but hardly a solution where there is no willingness to resolve the dispute.
