This Cambodian school girl has a 3 months ED visa. Single Entry. USED

The school failed to obtain the one year extension (they begin the process too late).

My question: is it possible to buy a re-entry and to make a visa run BEFORE the expiry date of the visa getting a 3 more months stamp thanks to this re-entry?

Is it possible to get a re-entry from a single entry visa to obtain 90 more days (altogether 180 days with a 3 months visa)?

Thank you

If this is a single entry visa then it was already used, probably the best way is to ask at the immigration, I believe it is window number 1, without extending this visa I think they will not give her a re-entry permit but I might be wrong, they allow you to re-enter once you had your visa extended and for that you need to provide a letter from MOE requesting the extension. It is an interesting case, I will be interested to hear the outcome. What was the name of the school?

No. A re-entry permit does not buy you an entry it simply protects the existing permit to stay.

For example. If you're stamped to say, 11 November and leave today with a re-entry permit when you return you will get a new stamp dated 11 November.

Yes, that makes sense. But still not sure if they will allow her back on a single entry without an extension

This is not a language school, it's a bi lingual primary school. Name is Yam-Saad. They used to deal with US teachers visa but not with Cambodian school girl (9 years old) visa. She is the only foreigner there.

The story is this one: the school begins to process the one year extension 2 weeks prior the 3 months ED visa expiration (don't ask me why). Every time, the requested documents are different and more numerous than 3 months before so there is not enough time to complete the extension ; as the visa expires, she has to go back to Phnom Penh to get another 3 months ED visa.

The point is that the Thai Embassy in Cambodia tells: "you need to make the extension in Bangkok not come back here every 3 months".

Some one at Thai immigration in Bangkok suggests we make the 3 months visa in Penang or Vientiane, it should be more easy than in Phnom Penh, even for a Cambodia child.

Any input about that?

Thank you

Hard to give any advice, we are dealing mostly with adult students. Seems strange that the school is not doing their job properly, perhaps the fact that it is quite a lot of work at the MOE as well as terrible traffic jams in the area on MOE is discouraging them from traveling there and applying and obtaining the enrollment letter for her. Wish I could help. I guess pressing the school is the best solution for the future.

I'm not really sure why the School has to apply for the one year extension?? Why not the parents or the guardian?? It's very easy and cost only 1900 baht!!!!!!! To apply for the 1 year extension - all she needs is the exact same type of documents that she used whe she applied for the type "ED" visa in Phnom Phen - The School needs to re-issue the exact type of documents addressed to the Regional Immigration Office (Pattaya, Bangkok, Phuket, etc). 2 Photos, the documents from school, copies of her passport, the "ED" visa page issued in Phnom Phen, and the page with the Entry Stamp - in 30 minutes It's done. We've done this twice!

It's good to read that. Thank you

We tried 6 months ago at Suan Phlu and besides the documents you mention we was asked a certificate issued by a gvt agency at the level of department. This certificate has to be obtained by the school and this is this document (issued that the Ministry as we are in Bangkok) which is difficult to obtain. As soon as we have this document, either the school or us can have the extension, I guess.

But maybe I'm told fairy tales.
