Hello Can any one point me to some info concerning setting up Export Biz/Livence etc.. It would be Herbs, Pharmecy type stuff. Also as a Retired Non Working Visa Man, could it all be in my Thai Wifes name? Or do they see though that. Thanks

First of all decide whether your want to be legal or engage into illegal activities with the latter mentioned surely not being recommended.

1. Form a company with the objective to engage into export activities

2. Apply for a work permit and export permit (hard card)

You mentioned you are looking at herbs and pharmaceutical products. Make sure that all products you are intending to export are approved by the Thai FDA. Thailand and this surely includes also the FDA surely do not want that substandard products or even harmful ones of Thai origin are exported and eventually spoil the countries reputation.

Products claiming to have any therapeutical benefits must be properly tested and there must be evidence that the claims hold actually true. Also keep in mind that some countries do either not allow the import of health effecting items or only by individuals that are properly licensed. In terms of the USA it is generally probhibited for the regular citizen to bring pharma products into the county from abroad.

Last but not least, do either you or your wife have the qualification (professional background) to deal in this product segment? Also consider that the authorities are surely alerted after some low quality products from China were smuggled into Thailand and some people fell ill or even died.

You may want to contact and get some advise from the Thai FDA first to get some guidelines and basic rules first prior to setting up any business activity.
