Some Questions On Non-immigrant Visa

hello,

i am hoping to relocate from japan to thailand in the next few weeks to live with my girlfriend and eventually gain work. i was wondering how difficult it is to obtain a non immigrant visa as i have no actual job lined up yet but plan to find work as quickly as possible upon arrival.

what would be the best category visa to go after do you guys think as im fairly clueless when it comes to this?

and also if the non immigration visa was not an option just yet if i was to purchase a tourist visa instead of the usual on arrival visa would this stop me from receiving any possible hassle from airlines etc in regards to not having an onwards travel ticket.

And you are Japanese? A visa would make travel easier but do not see any eligibility for a non immigrant visa (which is required for work). Neither girl friends or potential work qualify.
