Mystery Illness

Featured Replies

I really don't know what to do here. My wife has had serious stomach pains, just under the rib cage in the center of her body for about two days and the pain is just not going away. She doesn't have a fever or any other symptoms although her appetite is off and she complains of feeling really full all the time. We've tried anti-gas/antiacids tablets without success and I can't work out what's wrong or what I should do. Her mother brought her a few days supply of her special Som Tam from her home in Sukhothai when she visited recently and she ate it all at two sittings and she's not been right ever since. Do you think I should take her to the hospital and get her checked out?

How old is your wife? Has she been defecating and if so what is the consistency and colour of the stool. Any vommitting?

Any tenderness when pressing on the abdomen

Does drinking cold water relieve the pain temporarily?

Do you think I should take her to the hospital and get her checked out?

No, I'm sure it'll pass.
