Sam Allardyce should be next.

He will be, if they keep playing like they are in the first half.

Its only a matter of time after the performance today!!!!!

Do they sell pies in Birmingham?

Newcastle were awful against Liverpool yesterday. It's been like that for a few weeks now. The fans are already turning on Big Sam. Cries of "You don''t know what you're doing" could be heard during the second half.

I think that Big Sam and Birmingham would be a perfect match. :o

You might have to add Keane to the list soon. Some of his tactics are woeful. Signing Ian Harte was a mistake, but to play him at right back when he isn't even a left back is a sure sign of losing the plot.

Two wins over Spurs and Reading this season and draws against Birmingham (also relegation fodder), Middlesbrough (another awful team), Fulham (not much better) and Newcastle (maybe have enough points to stay up now!) cover over the cracks of what has been an awful start to the season. We are not much better than Derby and if we lose at home to Derby next weekend, I think Keane should walk. He blew his transfer budget in style!!

For Newcastle, there's something wrong with the set up, rather than the managers. Look at all the quality managers they have attracted over the years. None of them have delivered very much. The fans also have a reputation of being passionate, but fickle. Perhaps understandable, they become impatient tho' given so many years of lack of success, and having seen it all before.

Big Sam did an excellent job at Bolton. Pound for pound was the best manager in the Premiership, given the resources he had at his disposal. How many other managers could take a club like Bolton and consistently put them in top 8 as well as Europe? Yes I know, how many would want to? :D He did it, and prior to Anelka without any expensive signings.

The only expense he increased was making the club buy maps of Europe. Before that, no-one ever needed to know :D

I was extremely disappointed that he went to Newcastle. Supposed to be a big club. Let's face it, it's a big club in terms of many things, and underachieving is probably the biggest.

Anyway, wish Big Sam well, and Newcastle for that matter. Would be great to see him back at Bolton or managing England, once he's processed in the same way as all the other great managers.

I liked what Efan Ekoku said last night when commentating on the Liverpool v Newcastle game , he said that every manager who takes over at Newcastle is like a kid in a sweet shop with all that money to spend and there not used to it :o .

Certainly Big sam and those before him are not used to having huge transfer funds available and some of their decisions in the transfer market looks like the money is just burning a hole ( the geordies have signed more than a few liabilities the past few years :D ).

I reckon he has about two more games if he is lucky. The games I have watched this season they look even worse. Some good players on paper, but there just looks to be no teamwork, which is indictive of the last few years.

They are probably too good to go down, but they are an average team who will acheive little this year given recent performances.

Shearer is ready. :o

From skysports

"Sky Sports News understands Billy Davies is facing the sack at Derby County.

The Rams board are understood to have lost patience with the Scot as they battle to avoid a quick return to the Championship.

Derby are currently rooted to the bottom of the table and they are four points adrift from safety.

Davies made a plea for the club to back him with money in the January transfer window in the wake of Saturday's defeat to Chelsea, but it appears the Derby board will look to a new man to try and help them escape relegation.

The former Preston boss has been in charge at Pride Park for 18 months and guided them to promotion through the play-offs last season".

And another one. From skysports:-

Sky Blues axe Dowie

Manager sacked after defeat to Preston

Iain Dowie has parted company with Coventry City after less than a year at the club.

Dowie has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect along with Bob Dowie and Tim Flowers.

The Sky Blues have been in miserable form of late, losing five of their last six games in the Championship.

They did crush Barnsley 4-0 at home last weekend but then lost 1-0 to struggling Preston on Saturday.

That proved to be the final straw for club bosses, who have decided a change is needed if Coventry are to move forward.

Coventry have slipped to 19th in the Championship table and are now just four points above the relegation zone.
