Featured Replies

Does anyone know the score if you have a bike registared in Thailand, but would like to take it touring to Cambodia and Lao?

what do you need to do to make it legal and ease the crossing, also is there time limits etc. before you have to cross back into Thailand.

Hi check out gt-riders.com for all the information on riding around the Golden triangle area of SE Asia. It has a lot of routes andl lists all you need to take your bike across the border. Oe of the best resources there is for biking around Thailand. :o

Log on here at Gt-riders for border crossing info: http://www.gt-rider.com/thailand-laos-camb...r-crossings.htm

...and also register and view or post questions on their forum.

In short...assuming the bike is reg'ed in your name... border crossings are easy. As the GT site will inform you, Thai customs

gives you a temporary export permit for the bike, which is good for 30-days. Yet the 30-day rule is usually not enforced (YMMV)

as my last trip to Cambo & Laos was 2-months duration before returning to Thailand without any problem.
