On Wednesday Night, Police Major Chayagrit, from the Undercover Unit at Pattaya Police Station held a press conference to announce the arrest of a foreign national caught in possession of a substantial amount of class 1 drugs.

The arrestee was named as Mr. Picharat aged 32, a transsexual from the Democratic Republic of Laos. He was caught in an undercover operation which took place in the car park of the Carrefour Shopping Center in Central Pattaya. The suspect was contacted by an undercover officer and a meeting between the two was arranged. The suspect was caught in possession of 600 Yabba Tablets.

He explained that he had brought the tablets from Laos himself and would sell the drugs in bags of 100 for 30,000 Baht of would sell the tablets individually for 400 Baht. He is now behind bars and will face a judge in the coming days on serious class 1 drug charges.
