World Pool Championship 2007

Featured Replies

Well done to Daryl Peach ( great name :D ) for beating the phillipino Rberto " superman " Gomez in the finals of the world pool championship which was held in Manilla and shown live on ESPN.

Though I was cheering for Peach the whole way throgh I did feel a bit sorry for Gomez towards the end as you could see how much winning meant to him.

But hats off to Peach and congratulations on becoming the U.K's first ever world champion :D .

Next now on the pool scene is the Mosconi cup in Las Vegas ............ come on Europe !!!!!!! :o .

Peach is the 2007 World Pool Champion

peach%20wins%20celebration.jpg ENGLAND'S Daryl Peach has become the 2007 World Pool Champion.

Peach, 35, defeated Filipino Roberto Gomez 17-15 in one of the best finals ever.

The match, at the Araneta Coliseum, Manila was full of twists and turns as both players had the lead.

But the decisive moment came in the 31st rack when Gomez missed a pot at the 9-ball, which may haunt him for the rest of his life.

Peach then held his nerve to take the last two racks and become the first ever English World Pool Champion.

Result :

Daryl Peach 17-15 Roberto Gomez :o

Daryl Peach was a 150/1 outsider before the tournament started. I wouldn't have minded having a couple of quid on that.

Anyway well done to Peach for winning the tournament and defeating 3 of the local favorites in front of a very partisan Filipino Crowd.
