Vent Free Gas Fires

Featured Replies

I want to install a Vent Free Gas fire in my apartment.

All the info I can find on the net talks about installing in existing fire places.

I will need to start from scratch.

It has to be Vent Free as there is no possibility to install a flue.

Something like this is what I have in mind with the flat TV mounted above.

What to need to consider in building the surround so that the heat comes out into the room,

not into the brickwork and up to cook the TV.

What materials, dimensions etc.

Any info you can give, or pointers to web sites/discussion groups will be most welcome.

Thanks

The Vermont Castings site has a range of these fireplaces, and there are comprehensive User / Installation Guides and CAD drawings in PDF format under the "Get the facts" headings.

Hi Astral

I would try some of the gas fire manufacturers

Glowworm

Baxi

Potterton

Also try CORGI, they are the organisation concerned with gas safety in the UK.

I was registered with them up until a couple of years ago, therefore any advice I give you now will be out of date.
