Poblem With Cats C-motech Usb-card

Featured Replies

hi

i recently bought the c-motec CMDA usb-modem from cat.

it is working everything else but fine.

downloadspeed is between 300-512 (not 2400 like promised), upload only 30 (with http://speedtest.adslthailand.com/)

downloding of files from the west goes with a maximum of 30k per download, download of multiple files normally with about 15k/file. in the evening it sometimes goes down to 4k for single downloads!

files bigger than 10 mb needs several tries to finnish the download, because all 10-20 minutes the connection is lost (i have best antenna-level of 4!) . sometimes the lost connection reconnects automatically, sometimes i have to "stop" & "go" the modem, and sometimes i have to terminate the software and must unpluck & insert again the modem (about 3times a day). i disabled the hibernation-function already, but to me it seems that the lost-connection-problem comes from the CAT-driversoftware. not using the internet also causes a disconnection after 3 minutes (even when there are downloads in progress!), so maybe they have a bug here.

the people on the support-line where friendly but only asked useless questions like if i am married and so, but couldnt help.

maybe i remove the CAT-driver and install the original driver, someone here has posted the correct password (its CDMA), so a driverchange should work. has someone done this already ? and has someone else got this modem ? same problems ?

Hi

I have the same problem, but they did not promise me 2400, they told me around 500-800, but its not gettin up there

will see when i get back home how its work now.
