Hi Friends

I have a question and it will be very helpfull for me if you share your comments, suggestions or experiences in this regard!

I have valid us B1/B2 vistor's visa and I would like to visit some places of Canada during my visit to us. But I have no one in Canada to send me an invitation letter, which I had for us. My purpose is to visit some places of us and canada both and then return to Bangkok to resume my job.

So do you think since I have a valid us visa, it will some how influence to get a canadian visa easily? or it doesnt help at all?

Another point is, since I have no one to send me invitation from canada, well my purpose is pure tourism, will it affect negatively applying for visa without invitation?

Please share your thinking, I will be waiting for your responeses. My thanks in advance for your comments!

Best regards!

Sorry, the U.S. visa won't allow you to go to Canada. You'll need to apply for the TRV on your own. Not having a letter of invitation won't "hurt" you, but it won't help you, either.

The good news is that if you managed to get a visitor's visa to the U.S., the same qualifications would probably make you eligible for a TRV to Canada. When you go for your interview, you should definitely show the Canadian officials your U.S. visa and your plans for tourism in the U.S. and Canada.

Good luck!

And I would probably give them a copy of your US visa when you submit your application and maybe a cover letter stating what you want to do in Canada and metion in the letter that you have a US visa.

Have you been to the US before, or do you just have a new visa? Probably help more if you have used your US visa before and have returned.

I visited the US on a J1 visa on a British passport and just drove back and forth across the border, going through border control on both sides.

The greatest scrutiny I had was from the US side when leaving! "Why am I going to Canada? What did I intend to do in Canada?"

I was tempted to reply, "Forment insurrection against the United States from a safe foreign haven" but these guys don't have a sense of humour
