When I registered my marriage in Bangkok in 2005 it took 3 working days over a 10 day period.

Day 1 Visit Embassy and arrange translations at a translation agency.

Day 2 Pick up translations and visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Day 3 Register marriage at Amphur Office.

Next day my wife obtained her new ID card and 2 weeks later a new passport. My wife arranged the apointment at the Amphur Office and my brother-in- law was the interpreter.

Easy peasy.
