Dear all,

Is there anyone availabel who has the Clipper De-Compiler VALKYRIE?

I need to modify an old DOS program which was programmed in dBase and compiled in Clipper and the developer isn't more availabe and even not the source code. The problem is that the program can run in low speed only (below 100 MHz). I need to change a few parameter to get the programm running on faster computer.

Any reply very appreciated.

Thanks.

Version, blinker etc. ?

There used to be some people doing this as a service @ 100 USD per app, don't know if they still do, and it's a weekend. :o Valkyrie {company folded} stopped at about blinker 5.0 I think, later clipper 5.3 used 5.0x.

If you have more data on app, let me know and I'll see what I can find, but am away for the weekend, so not till Monday though.

Regards

There are some Services available for to decompile but I am afraid I can't give the prog out of my hands because is licensed to a costumer and I had getting some problems in the past that the progs after that was running somewhere else. One of my costumers was getting a court case about that. So I wouldn't do this again!

If I can get a copy of that program it would be fine and helps me but if not, I'll have to decompile to assembler and that's a lond "story"! Basicly I need just to change some Parameter so that the prog is running on faster and (mainpoint) available computer!!

If you can find something that could help me on this way it will be very fine and I thank you a lot that you would like to help me.

Cheers.

It is still available for purchase but not cheap and supports CA-Clipper 5.0 through 5.2 (Will not work with CA-Clipper 5.3)

$395.00 here > http://www.hallogram.com/valkyrie/

$195.00 here > http://www.grafxsoft.com/valkyrie.htm

Don't know how important the application is or if you would recoup your money.

That's excatly the point: I'll NOT get back the money and just for to decompile 1 program, it's to expensive!!

This is way I'm looking for a copy!

If you don't find a solution this way you can try a 'slow down' program like Mo'Slo and supply it to the customer. They have an evaluation version and believe the full version is around $25.00.

Or here > http://www.hpaa.com/moslo/basic.asp

Thanks a lot Tywais, will give them tonight a try! Was even thinking to down the CPU speed via BIOS!

Will see what can work!

Cheers.

Downloaded that prog! Unfortunate you can slow done only 1 executable file at same time and you can't use a batch file for to start the needed program!

The Bios even don't slows done enough, max down to 500 MHz and I found out the max speed for the program is 150 MHz!

Carry on with searching for an solution!

Thanks any way for your help,

By the way tha program will works fine for older games!!

That's too bad. I suspect you don't want to waste a lot of time looking at alternate methods but you might browse through this site and see if anything looks like it may work.
