He guys

I am new on the forum, not on the site but never took the time to register

I have a question.

Does anyone know if the playstation 3 that they sell here are all chinese manufactured.

And if they are any good, i know that the chinese playstation2 breaks very easy and i dont want to spend 18000 bht for a crappy playstation.

Besides this, can they play copied playstation 3 games (probably not)

and what about the copied playstation 2 games?

tnx for the info

Kiwi

I don't know about Chinese made PS3's, but the ones sold here are supposedly for the Asian market. As for copied games, the PS3 can't play copied games yet (PS2 or PS3).

tnx for the remark on copied games.

I went to the mall today and the one they sold there whas made in china, mostly they are crap so thats why i asked

You'll find the Hong Kong and Japanese versions here. I have a HK machine and I've experienced no problems. I haven't heard of any major problems from others. The games are region free but Resistance is region locked for multiplayer. I found that out the hard way. Check out http://www.nadzproject.com for good prices.

The Playstation 3 is very well constructed, especially compared with the X-Box 360 which seems cheap in comparison.

There are no chips available yet so no copied games.

PS3 games are multi-region so no problems playing any of them on any machine.

It has a Blu Ray player so check what region you want - there are three regions (A, B and C). Asian ones are region A, same as the USA.

It also upscales normal DVDs but it is region locked (Asian models are Region 3).

Infinitely better machine than any of it's rivals.

tnx for the details, much apreciated

This means i cannot play my european dvd's

How about ripped dvd's they dont have a region on it do they?

tnx again

Gamnes are partialy region locked in that you will buy a region 3 NTSC machine here and the Euro games are PAL. I learned that the hard way too. l I thought Blu Ray was supposed to be free of this junk.

I have just found a source here in Phuket for decent games and Blu Ray movies and I couldn't be happier though. Now we are starting to get some excellent titles - great console!

ynx

Do you know how much does Nadzproject charges for the 80 gig PS3?

I paid about 1800 baht for the Blu Ray I bought Tud. The games were closer to 2000 I think. Having seen the prices in the UK on my last visit they are directly comparable.
