Hello,

Does anyone know of any video editing software that supports Thai language? I would like to add Thai Titles and Subtitles in the video.

I have used both Let's Edit and Adobe Premiere Pro but these two doesn't support Thai language and I'm now using Windows Movie Maker to do the video editing BUT the options for adding Titles and Subtitles are too limited.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

I recently tried out 'TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX Authoring' and imported a DVD and then tried typing in a few Thai subtitles in its built-in subtitle editor. It seemed to accept these ok. However I never went as far as to finish the DVD and burn it to disk to see how they looked.

DVD Lab Pro should accept any text based subtitles, I think I tried Thai once but had no one there to type the whole movie so I gave up.

Are you sure that Adobe Premier doesn't support Thai? Support for TIS-620 (known by different names on Windows) has always been spotty, but it should support Unicode or it might be called UTF-8 (it supports ALL languages, including Thai), maybe you should try to save your text file as unicode first, even Notepad can do it.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies

How's the subtitle editor of TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 and DVD Lab Pro ? Does it have lots of choices?

Can it do things like having an Outline for the wordings? Can I set the font to a specific size? Currently the WIndows Movie Maker just have "bigger font tab" and "smaller font tab" and unless your subtitles is of the same length, then the font will be the same as the previous title, but if the length is different, then it automatically adjust for you making one subtitle's font bigger and another smaller. :o

Will try again with Adobe Premiere Pro - It works for other languages e.g. Chinese but when I tried it last year with Thai, it didn't work and I asked some other guys who did video editing to try it out but none gave me a positive answer. I'll try and save it to Unicode and see how it is. BUT I no longer have the Adobe Premiere software with me here :-/ Currently I have to just use Windows Movie Maker but the subtitles settings are making me crazy.

I hope to find a software here that has a lot of choices in adding Thai subtitles before I do the next video editing.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks again.
