I bought a second-hand a Honda Wave 100 (5,000 kilometers on it), and was impressed with the smooth ride it had (better than my 2 years older Honda Wave 125). Now, 3 years later, it has 17,500 kilometers on it, and seems to ride like a truck. Every bump jars my butt and spine right up to my neck. I drive this bike on mostly short stints around town, and the roads are atrocious. I'm wondering if I've worn my shocks out. Down at the local (non-dealer) bike shop, they just look at them (still clean and shiny) and tell me I don't need new ones. But, I'm wondering otherwise.

How many kilometers or years do Honda Wave shocks usually last? Is there an easy test to know if they're shot?

New shocks are often put on right away after these bikes are purchased, get a new rear set and report back.
