Our baby is 2 weeks old and we live in downtown Udon Thani. The birth of the baby has been registered with the Thai government and the baby has already been put into family 'house book'. I have 2 questions:

(1) I've been told the office that issues a Thai Passport for my area is located in Khon Kaen. True?

(2) At what age is our child eligible to be issued a Passport? Can a baby be issued a Passport in Thailand (I'm guessing yes but want to be sure)?

Thanks in advance.

1. Yes. Khon Kaen.

2. Any age. You can drive to Khon Kaen today and apply for your baby's passport.

The following documents are needed: birth certificate, passports of parents, wife's ID card, wife's housebook, marriage certificate. The passport will be mailed to you in about 3 weeks.

And you can also go to the American Embassy and file for an "American Citizen Born Abroad" birth certificate, which makes him an American citizen and can receive an American Passport
