Koh Chang

With the increased amount of traffic onto that island I would expect thaat there is now some need for a forum dedicated to the place.

at present those wishing to find out or get info have no real target to aim for...should it be travel or Eastern Seabord (Pattaya)?

or Maybe just an Eastern seabord forum to replace the Pattaya one?

I'd support a dedicated Koh Chang forum. Afterall, irrespective of peoples opinion on the rights and wrongs - Koh Chang is growing all the time.

I think Pattaya has all the merits to retain its' own forum & most certainly shouldn't be grouped with the rest of the Eastern seaboard.

I can see 2 issues here....one is people wanting to talk about or get info on Koh Chang (and Samet)

the other is people who live not in Pattaya but on either side of the place.

I think the situation is different from when this was last mooted: The demographics are changing - with the increasing numbers of people visiting/living on the Eastern Seaboard (many are Ex-pats working in te industries from Amata Nakorn to Rayong) there would seem to be a need to de-focus on Pattaya itself; a lot of the issues in the Pattaya forum aree actually much broader than the town itself and certainly spread from Chonburi to Rayong and on to KC.

Maybe an Eastern Seabord with sub-forums for Pattaya and the islands?

I still think Pattaya should retain its own individual forum. Perhaps an Eastern Seaboard forum in addition which could include the islands.

I would support this idea, but not just the islands, but Rayong and environs.

Perhaps an Eastern Seaboard Forum, with Pattaya as its main heading and sub headings for the Islands and Rayong or Islands/Rayong, without making it too convoluted, it already has a sub-heading of News, that you read if you want to be depressed, only joking guys, but it is depressing.

Good Idea Wilko in my opinion

Agree with Mossfin but I think better to leave Pattaya as its own separate forum, not just a sub-forum. Currently it has more posts than any other "local" forum so better not to tinker with it too much.

A Rayong / Eatern Seaboard forum would be good though to round up all those other islands and mainland beaches in that area. Sub-forums for the individual islands probably not necessary though in my opinion.

why not just do what the thread started out with?

a Koh chang thread, the idea of thaivisa is for helping one another, and if you sat at a desk looking mybe at internet eastern seaboard, or rayong wont mean a thing, whre as koh chang is how its described in holiday brochures, travel agents etc!

Phuket and Samui both have a forum.

And so do their surrounding regions.??

I would think that Eastern seaboard has a larger number of expats - EXCLUDING Pattaya - than most areas AND is a developing area for both tourism and industry.

It has been requested several times !! There is a large gray area including Chanthaburi, Trat ect. which have no no forum. I believe now is the time to start one. Thank You
