Is Skype's Call Quality Terrible At The Moment?

Featured Replies

Over the last month I've been having serious problems with Skype calls both in and out. I've been using it from my condo via True high speed for 1 year without many issues, but now frequently when I call a UK landline or mobile I can hear the other party but they can't hear me properly (echoes, delay, breaks). When people call me on my Skype-In number it's the other way around...

Skype support is indeed pretty awful, but I just wonder if anyone else has noticed the same recent problems, or is it possible it's stemming from True's service?

I had this problem as well last week. When I call to Germany,... it seems like when you try to call to Germany or Europe the connection is not very good, when you switch on your camera.

When my uncle calls to America there is no problem though

Have had issues with Skype quality as well as of late. As an alternative for calling landline/mobile, I've used Yahoo Voice which has been working quite well. For PC to PC, have been using Gtalk.

I've also been having call quality problems lately with Skype.

Does Gtalk have video calling?

I don't believe it does unfortunately. Unless there's some plug-in add on thingie I don't know about.
