2008 Primary School Days Off

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I would like to know the 2008 days off from school (official Thai Holidays and dates between semesters). I understand in April/May there is a long break. This would be for an 8-9 year old student attending public school in the BuriRam province. Specifically around the town of Prakham. Thanks.

FLL-BKK, Good luck in finding out this information, I am a teacher at a high school and they usually tell me the day before that I have a holiday the next day. My contract expires the end of February, but I believe the students still have about 3 weeks of exams after that. If you get a good Thai Calendar the Holidays are usually marked in red. Issangeorge.

I've never heard of any school that has three weeks of exams. More like three days.

My kids have all of March and April plus about half of May off.

I doubt that the Teaching Forum has an official list. I doubt anybody in Thailand has an official list. It is up to the whim of the local school Director. You can guess mid March to mid May but that's rough.

It's a start I guess.

As others have pointed out: it depends...

Usually there is a break between the semesters, starting from mid March to mid May, subject to the schools managers whims.

Official schools are closed on public holidays, which are marked red in any Thai calendar.

If you want to take your son/daughter to a trip to farangland or a holiday at a nice beach in Thailand, I would suggest to discuss it with his/her teacher. They are usually understanding and cooperative.
