So it would seem it is MUCH cheaper to buy

the Cebu Leg in Manila? ... a saving of of about

Bht 9,000 !!!!!

Has anybody any experience in this matter ?

I am currently in Bangalore - so it is not easy to contact

the Airline or Bangkok travel Agent.

I cancelled my october trip BKK=Manila=BKK, but the only cheap airline was Air France, about US$260, about 11,000 baht. I got the quote through Yahoo Travel.

Well, the Philippines ain't like Thailand where some of the "upper-end" stuff is cheaper than in Western countries- usually, it's likely to be MORE expensive. And there have been a number of scandals over the years about the high fares charged by PA and what happens to the cash. Basically, it's a major cash cow for some of the rich ol' crony gang there- especially if you happen to be a foreign who's assumed to be dripping with extra money. My advice would be to avoid using PA and use ANY other airline- I used to use Air Malaysia or Singapore- otherwise buy your tickets in country.

As said above believe there are direct flights from Singapore to Cebu which would probably be the least expensive route (Bangkok-Singapore is deeply discounted by a number of airlines as well as discount carriers).
