The Boss Tower apartments are somewhat near Ekkamai BTS off of Sukhumvit Road.

The apartments are OK, have a swimming pool, and priced pretty well, mostly for Thai residents. I had a Thai friend recommend it to me, so I went to look.

But I decided against them, mainly because their location is a pretty LONG walk down a very busy and noisy soi to get to Ekkamai.

Being close and convenient to BTS was important to me, and I wanted to be within a quick/convenient walk. Boss is an easy ride via motorcycle taxi, but I didn't want to be doing that every time I came or went from home.

Boss Tower is out of everything, you may cross it out. Located at Rama IV, 24x7 heavy traffic and you can't get anywhere on foot, except, maybe, 1.5 km Lotus and Carefour.

Try KTA Mansion. Off Soi 42, 8 mins walk to BTS (Ekamai) and that would give you a clean room with all other things "available". No swimming pool.

I have sectioned off my 2 bedroom apartment into 2 parts; one is a studio unit with en suite toilet/shower, own entrance, can use washing machine, refrigerator, microwave, ceramic cooker. Studio unit furnished with A/C, double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, telephone, etc. Can include one carpark space. Price is baht 18,000 per month all in, inclusive electricity, water, etc. UBC is extra baht 1,000 per month, internet extra baht 1,000 per month.

New project called Baan Klang Krung Siam Patumwan, near intersection of Petchburi and Phayathai Road, 2 minute walk to BTS Ratchathewi station. Complex has swimming pool, fitness, squash courts, keycard entry, guards, etc.

If you wish to view, let me know and I will give telephone number of an agent who can show you the premises.

This studio unit is ideal for single male/female, or for couple to use. No short term rental, only 6 months to one year or more rental. Not a full service apartment; furnished but no daily maid or laundry service. Main front door is shared with owner of premises, but entry way then has two doors going into this studio unit, and one door to the other unit. Mail box is shared, as is W/M, frig, microwave, ceramic cooker.

I've been in Rompo Mansion 4 years now and like it. Located right next to Rama IV Lotus and Cafu, shuttle to MRT morning time. Bus stops in walking distance. Big swimming pool where you can actually swim. Gym, minimart, laundry, restaurant, coffee shop, free parking, ok priced wifi internet in your room, just buy voucher from front desk.

Taxi (rush hours need to use bike) to Sukhumvit or silom is 5 to 10 mins...

Staff is very nice and helpful, have cleaning services available and you can rent bedsheets, fridge, tv etc which makes sense for shorter term.

Building from outside is not that nice anymore so no luxury living but they are renowating the units regularly so they are basic but clean. You can also ask them to paint and fix the unit before you move in (did that myself and it took them less than a week to paint and redo some tiles in bathroom).

Not sure about their asking rates at the moment. I'm paying 8,460 per month for 30-40 m2 studio and if you pay before 15th you get 10% discount... It's been the same since the beginning so not to worry about rent increases that much. Contract can be done daily, weekly, monthly or longer term. Up to you and naturally if you pay say 6 to 12 months in advance you can expect additional 5 - 15% discount depending your negotiating skills.

I got lucky as my mate who's been there 10+ years get me the rate above :o
