2nd Visa To Australia

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post, but I have been reading and have been helped greatly by your expertise.

I managed to get a 3 month visa for my TGF over the xmas/new year period and she has just gone back. I need some advice on the 2nd visa to OZ. She would like to come later this year, hopefully on a longer visa than 3 months. Any advice on what I should do for the 2nd visa would be much appreciated.

Brief Background. I have know my GF for nearly 2 years and have visited many times. Things are now getting a little more serious with thought of marrying etc. Any advice is most welcome.

Do the same as you did for the first one....just udate the info.....and tick the 12 month box.....then sit and hope you get the 12 month multi entry....which allows for multiple three month stays.

You can tick the 6 month box and see what happens....

The GF of a friend of mine has been to Oz about 3 times in the past 4 years and the last 2 times she has been issued a 12 month multi entry tourist visa. I think that once they see an on-going relationship and the visa holder abiding by the visa regulations, they will just automatically issue this one. Funny thing is that they didnt ask for the multi, just the single entry, but like I said the past couple of times they go the multi entry.

Thanks for your help. I will try for the 12 month visa and cross my fingers. Hopefully will not have too much trouble.

Thanks for the help Graham. I know you have been through this all before. Hope everything is going well with your Thai wife. I may need more advice in the future regarding where is the best place to marry (Australia or Thailand) and what is the best way to get a more permanent visa. Kind Regards.

A bit late with my 2 cents worth, but you did say later this year to re-apply.

Since she has been here before I presume she has met your family? If so ask your folks to write a simple letter, addressed to her, saying they were glad to meet her, they think she's lovely and look forward to her coming back etc.

When my GF got her 12 month visa recently she spent a long time on the phone to the lady from the embassy and she made a special point about the letters from my folks and said my GF was lucky to have my folks being so supportive.

My point is that she took the time to read them and gave the impression that they strengthend the application.

Also totally agree with Sezzo's comments, but still get the letters.
