Explosion On 2 Boats At Boat Lagoon At 11.30am

Featured Replies

There was an explosion on board 1 speedboat called Sakila (6) at about 11.30am, after it returned from Koh Kai tour, and moored beside dock near Clubhouse; the fire spread quickly to another speed boat nearby, called Elixir from a resort of same name on Koh Yao Yai, Phang Nga Bay.

As far as we know 2 Thai staff badly burnt taken to hospital.

(We will have a report with video & views from onlookers on Monday's Andaman News program as we are off air tomorrow Friday.)

I myself had seen on numerous occasions in the boat Lagoon and especially Ao Chalong, Thai boat boys (and that's what they are boys) smoking cigarettes and mucking around with their speed boats. I saw two boats myself in Ao Chalong burn up this way on different times. Also notice none of the other boats had any fire extinguishers to help spray on the boat. Just wait after a dozen foreigners are burnt dead they might follow some marine laws.
