According to what I have read on this site I can use extensions on my Tourist Visa???

THAIFLYER1...I have a Tourist Visa Multiple entry good for 6 months which expires in Feb 2005. My first 2 months expires on Oct 15, 2004....My idea was to go to Poipet (with 20,000 Baht Cash) and exit and re-enter Thailand to start the 2nd 2 months, but if I can extend it and still have another two months after and then extend it again and have two months that would be great...

I'm a Retired Marine 44 years old so break this all down to laymens term for me please..

aOk, minor point is that you seem to have a two entry tourist visa so it is best to call it that rather than multiple as that is usually used with non immigration type visas to indicate any number of entries are permitted. :o

Your plan will not work as each entry can be extended 30 days so the best you can do is 60 + 30 exit/enter 60 + 30 and you get six months in Thailand with one exit.

Lopburi,

My Tourist Visa is a triple entry good until 15 Feb 2005... So my first expire date is 15 Oct 2004...Should I go get a 30 day extension and ten after the 30 days exit and re enter again? And if I should get an extension where do I get it? I live in Burirum and the closet border is Chom Chom near Surin or do I have to go to Bangkok...I've always had a Non-B before this and all this is new to me...

Thanks

Do the math. Take the 30 day at 1,900 baht but then exit on about 13 Nov for another 60 + 30 and then exit on about 10 Feb for another 60 + 30 and if you really believe a couple of days worth 1,900 baht try for another 10 days but don't be surprised if it is not approved without some fast talking. :o

Where can I get this 30 day extension at? What do I need to show or take with me? Is it a pretty simple thing to do? Do I have to do this in Bangkok?

Thanks

You can extend at any immigration office, one photo in Bangkok or two upcountry I believe. Fill out TM.7 form and pay 1,900 baht. Question on form as to reason for request so you have to put something there and I would have cash on hand in case they want to see you can support yourself.

Lopburi,

Thanks for all your assistance in this matter. I will be in Bangkok on the 10th of next month and since my first 2 month expires on the 15th I will try and get this done in Bangkok. I will have the 1,900 Baht for the extension and will carry with me about 25,000 Baht extra...This should cover it all ????

Where do I get the TM7 form at...Immigration or can I download it from the net. What's a good reason for an extension??

Again Thanks

Use the form at Immigration although I believe there is a form on main web site here immigration may not like it (they didn't in July). But you can fill out and copy if needed to new form to make it faster. You might take dry stick glue to attach photo although they will have if you forget. Photo should be within six months and 4x6cm.

Sounds like you should not have any problem. Travel in Thailand should be a good reason I think.
