The Kathu police superintendent Plo.Col Krissak Songmoomnark revealed that the 4 million baht’s worth of new equipment is funded by the Patong Municipality. He expects the new tools to be more efficient with more details and options in operation where people can access it through the internet. At present CCTV are installed in 16 locations on 3 main roads the beach or Thawewong Road, Phra Barami Road and the Ratutit 200 Years Road. According to the superintendent, Patong will be divided into 3 zones, A, B, and C. Signs will be put up to identify which zones tourists are in so when they ask for help they can be easily located.
