Does Pattaya Need A New Bus Service?

Featured Replies

Beach road can no longer accomodate all these empty jeepneys blocking up the road.

there is simply not enough road space to cater for all the traffic plus the songthaews

The only answer is a minibus service doing the rounds on a specific prearranged routes.

Get rid of the jeepneys and beach road will be clear ,traffic will flow and the air will be a tad cleaner .

Really stupid idea. No one will take these buses @ b30 a ride. Not the local falang, certainly not the Thai. No one will wait for them and many are not even a/c (which is ok for b5 but not for b30!). ######, for b30 yo can ride door2door on a moto! Another mafia scam courtesy Pattaya city hall. Solve one problem, create three.

All they needed to do was to was to put the songtaew on strict routes and post a big sign in english B10 and in Thai B05. Normally, I am strictly against two tier pricing but this price for long haul possibly so its ok (B10 can be big money for Thai and will get you across Bangkok in ac bus in comparison). On the sign -any problems call Tourist Police immediately with this ez to remember driver# ___ .

Inform the songtaew driver if there are 2-3 calls ever (!) against them they are finished as drivers in Pattaya -period!

Its just not the songtaew on beach road -its a mess for many, many reasons -in fact it's deadly (literally). Any reduced traffic will actually encourage dumb ass falang to scream ever faster down the road as the do laps round beach/soi2 and all the other nutters.
