Tot Adsl Service In Pattaya

Featured Replies

This is the fourth day in a row that my ADSL service has not been working. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Most of the time, the people at TOT are not answering the telephone. I got through once on Monday and was told an engineer would contact me Tuesday. That did not happen. I appreciate that we are in a holiday period, but TOT's ADSL department ought to be staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year round. I wish that I had an alternative service available. CAT won't install a line for Internet while Thappraya Road is under construction (which could take another two years). TT&T says they have no phone lines available in this area. I don't believe that True is making hi-speed internet service available in Pattaya. None of our cable TV companies are offering the service. Best I can do is use Bluetooth with my cell phone, which is how I am connected at the moment: This gives me a speed of 115kbps. Is there some other service I should know about? David.

Guess you'll have to be patient :o

One thing you can do though, if your phone is Edge capable (normally you'll see an E somewhere on your display, usually next to your signal strength).

Increase the maximum connection speed of your bluetooth to at least 230,000 bps. Depends on what software u use to dial into the GPRS network. If it's just a dial-up connection you use (using your phone as a modem) then you can find it somewhere in the dial up properties.

Edge can give speeds up to 238 kbps, so your bluetooth connection needs to match this speed or else you're not using your Edge connection to it's full capacity!
