Wonder if anyone can advise...

I am travelling with my wife and baby from Phuket to London via BKK in early July.

Flight from HKT to BKK is on Thai Airways, and then from BKK to LHR on British Airways.

Can I check in for the BA flight from checking in in Phuket? (As I am travelling with an Infant, our seats have already been reserved - bulkhead with baby basinette 28F and G). If not can I check in on line first - or does this confuse matters?

Can I check my bags all the way through to LHR from HKT, or must I collect them in BKK?

I have 2 hours between scheduled arrival in BKK to departure - will this leave enough time, or shoudl I go for the flight 2 hours earlier?

Anything else I should know aout travelling with a baby (2 weeks off a year old at time of travel)?

Really nervous about the journey - I try not to travel long ditances, as I loathe travelling.... but grandparents must see their granddaughter occasionally!

Cheers

I flew form Chiang Mai last year on Thai to BKK and Eva from BKK to LHR and they through booked my luggage in Chiang Mai, so it was very easy at Bkk no luggage to collect and check it in again, if they don't offer to do this it would be worth asking.

There should be no problem booking you bags right through from Phuket to Heathrow.

Also I would have thought that you will be able to get your BA boarding cards when you check in at Phuket.I've done it the other way round in the UK flying domestic and then Thai International from Heathrow.

The only thing you have to worry about is that your domestic Thai flight arrives at Dom Muang and your BA flight departs from Suvarnabhumi. It can take a good hour to travel between the two airports so you are cutting it a bit fine for your UK flight.

Personally I'd definitely take the flight from Phuket 2 hours earlier. That way you can relax a bit and not worry too much about your connections.

Thanks for replies so far.

My domestic flight goes into Suvarnabhumi Airport - so I don't need to change airports - thankfully!

Ah,OK,if you are going direct to Suvarnabhumi I'd get the later flight then.....two hours connection time should be enough.

The only reason I mentioned Dom Muang was because the last time I flew Thai domestic only that was the airport we went to (last time 2 months ago).

Obviously the ones from Phuket linked to International flights must go to the new airport.

So you should be fine with everything.Have a good trip :o
