So my Xbox that Ive had since Jan 06 with no probs just got the 3 red lights.

I was playing on it with my friends when the screen went black, it did this a few more times after rebooting so I left it. Same again this morning, when I did the 3rd reboot I got the red lights.

One of my friends has been using his harddrive on my console, we started doing this about 5 days ago and its something Ive never done before. Does anyone think this could be a connection? I cant see how the console got hot because I usually have the air on full blast when Im playing.

Anyway, time for a repair. Ive heard there's a guy somewhere down Sapahn lek or something and he does them in like 20 mins, please post the details/directions if you have them. Would also like to hear other options/places.

I may even just go and buy a new console, so if there's anyone out there who knows how to fix these and wants to buy my console off me cheap then let us know.

I bought an add on for my Xbox. Its basically 3 small fans that snaps on to the back of the Xbox and blows air onto the hardrive. Best buy i reckon as i my Xbox when closed down was taking a long time to actually shut down before.

I wouldn't take it to those theiving bastards at saphanlek, they'll rip out half of the hardware and you wouldn't know it as it will still display 3RROD.

In BKK take it to Nadz Project. He is honest. He won't BS you.

Before you do, play around with the power brick, that sometimes causes RROD.

NEVER let anyone who claims they can fix your rrod keep your box for a couple days. theyre gonna strip it obviously. it takes 30-50 mins to repair rrod. ive seen it done and tried doing it myself. its not difficult if you have the tools.

Well the shop where I buy my games in the mall Ramkamhaeng said they can fix it for 2500 baht and it will take 3 days. Quite pricey but they also said that its guaranteed for several months after (cant remember if they said 3 or 6 months) so if it breaks after I can go straight back there, thats the best part of the deal for me.
