I haven't made my way down to BKK on a Hua Hin getaway run (from Chiang Mai) in a yr or more now and last I heard is that you still pick up the shuttle van somewhere around the Victory Monument, but that they moved it either this way or that relative to the other bus stops. Can anyone explain to me how to get there easily without wandering around like a confused Falang and being told 'Mai mii...' when I ask where it is ? Times available too ? I do speak n read Thai... it's just sometimes finding the right knowledgeable person or a sign big enough to read is difficult.

And also, how much is it these days ? I think I paid 150B last time. Ok, and anybody got a good place for 500-1,000 B per night ? Might as well have all the pertinent info in one thread. Thanks

The pickup/dropoff point for the minibus to Hua Hin has moved to a more convenient spot at the Victory Monument BTS station. It is located at the south-east exit staircase of the Victory Monument station, outside the shopping center. The fare one-way is Baht160.

No knowledge of cheap hotels.

realthaideal, if you want a place cheap and hot in Hua Hin, you can try the jetty hotels along the beach, north of the Hilton. An easy walk across the main drag (Petchkasem), all the way to the edge of the water. Maybe 600 baht, even less if you bargain, but no frills, and in the middle of the action.

Thanks for replies so far. Can I catch the shuttle a couple times per day or does it run just once in the morning? That's the only one I've ever gone on.

No schedule. The mini bus shuttle runs everytime, anytime it fills up with passengers. Pay the fare to the desk clerk and wait a few minutes. Just pray that you do not get a Kamikaze driver!
