Anyone know where I can find some real miso in Phuket? With so many Japanese tourists and restaurants there must be some place that stocks it, but I've looked just about everywhere I can think of. Maybe a local grocer in town somewhere?

Yes, I know it's a strange thing, but I'm addicted to fresh miso soup for breakfast. With lots of chilies, of course.

TOPS in Robinsons or Central.

Hmm, I checked there. Guess I'll have to take a closer look - thanks! Happen to know which section or aisle? :o

1) Check SuperCheap near the Antennae tower hill on the main road from the airport, west side of the road -Look for the huge Michelin billbooard.

Caution though, this place is HOT , go on a cloudy day during the week ( and at your own risk as it is a fire trap waiting to happen) I know they have the powdered soup so it might have fresh miso, whatever that is.

2) Also the Deli grocery in North West Patong , perhaps 500 meters north from Siam Commercial Bank on the same side of the road.

3) Across the road from the Deli and back toward the bank is a small restaurant supply shoppe.

4) Don's food in Rawai

try one of the various korean grocery stores...there is one behind the moo muang dining complex on chaofa near villa california. i have seen miso in tops market as well, but it wasn't in a big plastic tub--they were individual squeeze packets like you can buy in japan. near the wasabi tubes and other japanese spices.
