The wet season is beginning on KC and soon it will be the place with th highest rainfall anywhere on the Thai coast....so what do the ex-pats on the island do???????

I heard that a lot pack up and head for the mainland or home country. Certainly a lot of facilities close up.

.................anyway, what happened to your last umbrella??

A 100 baht golf umbrella purchased from Somchai's 'Umbrellas, watches, sunglasses and various other knock offs' stall at the Hat Lek border crossing doesn't last long in the wet. Fine for dry weather use though.

I have some family in other parts of Thailand, so usually I wait till the weather gets really bad [one year earlier/later than the other] because just before rainigseason its nice and calm and then after visits, do some volunteering in the north or go back to europe visiting mom and friends.

Before I know it its higheason again...
